WOONSOCKET, R.I. and REDMOND, Wash., June 26 /PRNewswire/ — CVS Caremark and Microsoft Corp. announced plans to collaborate to offer consumer health care solutions to help people manage their health and wellness, and control their health information using Microsoft HealthVault.
Through this collaboration, consumers will be able to download a comprehensive list of prescriptions filled at CVS/pharmacy or through CVS Caremark by mail as well as save copies of their health records, including laboratory tests, from visits to MinuteClinic, the retail-based health clinic subsidiary of CVS Caremark, into their individual HealthVault record. It will also be possible to upload personal health data, such as blood pressure or glucometer readings, from HealthVault into CVS Caremark applications for use by pharmacists or nurse practitioners in providing care. These services are expected to be available to consumers beginning in the fall of 2008.
“We believe that tools such as Microsoft HealthVault should better enable consumers to manage their health care information in an environment that is often fragmented and paper-based,” said Helena Foulkes, Senior Vice President, health Services at CVS Caremark. “Given CVS Caremark’s commitment to facilitating consumer engagement in their health care, we are excited to work with Microsoft to offer consumers HealthVault-connected services.”
Microsoft’s HealthVault platform allows people to collect, store and manage personal health information and share it with physicians, family members and other trusted third parties. Consumers can store information from multiple sources including provider and hospital record systems, pharmacies, home monitoring devices, and patient entries.
“For many people, the process for tracking medications consists of holding onto old prescription medication bottles,” said Peter Neupert, corporate vice president, health Solutions Group, Microsoft Corp. “The solutions CVS Caremark and HealthVault will deliver will make that method a thing of the past and give people the tools they need to better manage their prescriptions.”

With the help of top health experts, health Magazine put the latest “good-for-you” products in beauty, food and fitness to the ultimate test and unveiled a total of 75 true standout products to comprise the list of America’s Healthiest Buys in its new June issue as June is National Fruits and Vegetables Month.
Kagome’s Yellow Mango Orchard, the company’s first product marketed in the U.S., was named the top juice in the Beverages category.
Health Magazine judges said, “Like most of us, you’re probably not eating enough fruits and veggies. No problem, just drink them! Eight ounces nets you a full serving each of fruits and vegetables for only 120 calories.”

We used this same approach to create our line of natural, blended juices.
Kagome natural juice blends feature as many as 13 fruits and vegetables in one drink, including tomatoes, carrots, bell peppers, purple carrots and blueberries.
Each eight ounce glass of Kagome juice is an easy and tasty way to add one full serving of vegetables and one full serving of fruits to your diet.
